The chicken is awarded monthly for a nautical "gaffe" or misstep which has occurred during the weekend. Many members try and hide what they may have done during the weekend to avoid the chicken.

     Mike A. loved his new image while wearing all the chicken trimmings and was distressed about having to depart with it. He finally felt like a full fledged SBC member after he was honored with the chicken.

    Although, witnesses were sworn to secrecy, the word was soon out that Herman was a nominee when he found himself holding two separate ends of a line which were supposed to be one line. By some rotten luck or skill(?), the single line wrapped itself around Herman's prop when he wasn't looking and multiplied itself into two. Mike's brother Rod extricated the mess from "Enjoy the Moment's" props. Herman was not enjoying the moment very much.

 

Then, as the story goes, it was Friday night while SBC members were relaxing on their boats talking about "this and that" when the conversation on "Showtime" was getting much louder.  As the evening progressed, the chatter became much more interesting.  When the conversation turned to the exploits of the Johnsons and their friends, the eavesdroppers were shocked to learn that Big Johnson, Big Mac, Whopper, Happy Meal (and so on) were a vital part of their party repartee’. (Well maybe not shocked, but definitely amused.)  BUT THEN... The conversation turned to Colonics!  Well, the group didn’t think that was something that they wanted to hear while enjoying hors d'oeuvres! So they listened ever more intently, as Mike J described the “Joy of Colonics.”

Well Mike A awarded the chicken to Mike J for the comedy show and mostly for not even remembering the conversation the next day!
